Enterprise

Our vision is to enable students to experience, develop and succeed in Enterprise. Students will discover the relevance and complexity of Enterprise and how they are influenced by and have influence over real business actions and decisions.

All students are part of the business world now as consumers and in the future as employees, entrepreneurs or shareholders.  Therefore, Enterprise education is vital to prepare students for their future experiences, and to allow them to thrive as individuals in the economy.

From Year 9 the Enterprise curriculum enables students to participate in enterprise challenges, taking risks to expose them to success but also enable them to learn from failure.  As well as understand the skills and activities required to become entrepreneurs.  The importance of innovation, ethical behaviour, sustainability, legal and economic influences also flow from Year 9 through to Year 13 to ensure that learners are responsible, successful individuals in the future.

Teaching encourages students to improve their interpersonal, analytical and evaluative skills with exposure to up to date real business examples, visits and business specialists.  Enterprise is an inclusive subject and is focussed on personalising learning to meet the needs and styles of all students.

The Enterprise curriculum is constructed to provide a flavour and foundation experience of businesses and how they are influenced.  From Year 10 students will study  the concepts either at GCSE or NCFE and develop a greater level of knowledge and assessment skills before moving into the  sixth form to study Business at A Level or A level Economics.
