Our Vision

At Highfields we believe in educating the ‘whole child’ by extending students’ learning beyond the classroom.

At Highfields, we firmly believe that the academic success and personal development of our students are of equal importance.  We aim to fulfil our role as educators by focusing on developing the knowledge, skills and qualities essential to lead a successful, full and happy life.  Our goal is for all of our students to become proud, active members of Highfields School and to positively contribute to their community and the wider world. Students will be supported to develop personally in order for them to be confident enough to seek out, embrace and excel in the opportunities life presents and to do this with thought, consideration and kindness.

We want our students to leave Highfields able to make informed choices so they;

1.     Know how to stay safe

2.     Know how to be healthy and take responsibility for themselves and others

3.     Make a positive contribution to the communities in which they live

4.     Appreciate and value themselves and others

5.     Are successful in school and beyond

 In order to achieve this, we intend to develop students’ capabilities to gain

We believe that the skills and qualities are both caught and taught in a successful school community through:

  • Ethos of the school

  • Curriculum provision

  • Extra- Curricular Opportunities

  • Enrichment

  • Support, Care and Guidance

  • Assemblies and Form Time

  • Student Leadership

  • Celebrating success

  • Engagement with parents and the wider community
