Ofsted Inspection 2018
Ofsted visited Highfields to carry out a Section 8 inspection on Wednesday 10th October. The visit was the first short inspection carried out since the school was judged to be ‘Good’ in March 2011. As we were only inspected under the Section 8 framework, this means it was not possible for us to improve our current OFSTED judgement and that we will have to wait a year or two to see whether we really are outstanding.
However, the inspection team were clearly of the view that we may well be or else they would not have recommended that our next inspection be under the Section 5 framework.
The Ofsted team had many positive comments to make about our school, including exemplary pupil behaviour and attitude to learning, the school’s ‘happy and harmonious atmosphere’, excellent teacher subject knowledge and strong culture of mutual respect between staff and students.
As ever, despite the very positive outcome of the inspection, please be assured that we shall not be resting on our laurels and will continue to do our utmost to provide the best possible quality of education for your children as we continue striving to be officially recognised as an ‘outstanding’ school.
Ofsted Report 2011
Highfields School was last inspected in March 2011. The Ofsted team had many positive comments to make about our school. Their overall judgement was that Highfields is a 'good school with outstanding features'. We were especially pleased with the inspectors' recognition of the excellent contribution made by our pupils to their school.
Since the inspection, we have continued to develop all aspects of teaching and learning in Highfields, as we strive to become an 'outstanding' school.
Hard copies of the Ofsted Report are available on request from the school office (01902 556530). If you have any queries or comments regarding the report, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
