Applied ICT

Our vision is to inspire students to be successful by encouraging them to think creatively about the role of technology in the 21st century. We live in a digital age where ICT has impacted every aspect of our lives, it is important for our students to develop a comprehensive understanding of current technologies and to consider the impact of future emerging technological and software developments. As a result, ICT education plays a crucial role in preparing students to take on their role as resilient digital citizens who are confident users of digital tools and resources.

The ICT curriculum is inclusive so that all students are motivated to achieve their potential and make excellent progress. Students are challenged and supported to develop technical competence as well as key transferable skills including critical thinking, communication, problem-solving and collaboration. The ICT qualifications offered at Highfields include many links to how ICT is used in the workplace giving students an opportunity to learn using real business contexts strengthening their understanding.
