Basketball players bid for league glory in last game of season

Basketball players from Highfields are limbering up for the biggest game of the season when they will compete to be crowned champions of their league.

The match on May 4 against St Peter’s School is the last of the season and will determine the winners of the Wolverhampton School League.

Coach, Mr M.Baker, said: “It’s the last game of the season and it is the biggest because it will decide if Highfields or St Peter’s win the league.

“The lads put in so much effort to their basketball and they’ve had another fantastic season so it would be great for everybody to get behind them and give them their support for the big game.”

The school team finished top of the league last season and is now playing at a national standard.

A group of players from Year 11 train three times a week at 7.30am before school starts.
