Dedicated netballers from Highfields are being celebrated for their dedication to perfecting their skills on court - whatever the weather.
Every Tuesday evening, the school gives students from all year groups the opportunity to bib up and train, with Deputy Head of PE, Mrs J Brickwood, saying she was delighted with how many have committed their time to the sport, come rain or shine. Dozens of students turned up to the last training session before the Christmas holidays, despite the pouring rain and cold temperatures, with some donning festive hats to mark the festive season.
Mrs Brickwood added: "Students have attended from September, come hale, wind and rain and the last week of term was no exception. On that last training session before the Christmas holidays, in the pouring rain, on a dark and cold winter night, 50 girls turned up to play and train.
"It was a truly impressive sight."
The efforts of our netballers are already paying off, with members of the Year 7 team beating both Wolverhampton Grammar School and Wolverhampton Girls' High ahead of the holidays.
